Since moving out for college and really in the past year or so, I have realized how lucky I am to have my family. We are not perfect by any means. But my parents are there for my brother and I and are always supportive. They are fun and we love playing board games, traveling, and just hanging out. My brother and I talk fairly often, but I always look forward to the time I get to spend with him and his girlfriend. My parents visited this past weekend and we had a great time together, eating out, going to a baseball game, and shopping (thanks to the icky weather). This coming weekend I am driving down to my brother’s for his big birthday bash and I could not be more excited. Even though he still treats me like his little sister, I kind of appreciate it sometimes (especially when guys are jerks).

In the past few years, I have come across numerous people who do not have such great families. Some even have no contact with certain family members, including siblings and parents. The sad thing is, they have legitimate reasons to have severed ties. I do not know what I would do without my mom, dad, and brother to talk to, hang out with, and love. So here’s to the fam!! I couldn’t ask for better.
