Call me crazy, but I like getting up early. I’ve pretty much always been a “morning person”, even in college not able to sleep past 9 or 10am.I always have to sit and eat breakfast (just cereal, but still a meal). I think that’s also why I’ve always loved breakfast so much….I am pretty much always up for normal breakfast time. And it’s just delicious food, let’s be real…especially a good weekend brunch. I don’t like being rushed in the morning, so I leave extra time. Being rushed and stressed to start the day is not a good way to start the day! But to me, running is a great way to start the day.
Since starting my job, I have been getting up at 4:30am to run or go to the gym. For the obvious reason, it is not as hot (as it was summer temps. the past few days). But even more enjoyable is the quietness. No cars. Fresh morning air. Yesterday I had to leave especially early for work and got up at 4:10am to run. That was a difficult one and I really just couldn’t justify doing it again. So this morning I ‘slept in’ until 5:30 and ran this afternoon instead (it was much cooler today anyway). Yes, there is the downside in that I am ready for bed by about 9:30pm, but I don’t do much weekday nights anyway. I can have fun on the weekends 🙂
