I never thought there would be so much excitement on Peachtree Street. Last week, for the whole week, filming took place for Anchorman 2. Most of the filming was done in Woodruff Park, right across from my office building. We had a good but distant view from the 17th floor. There were also shots taken on the roof next to our building.  They created a lovely New York City scene – Central Park, New York taxi cabs, ’70s newsstands, subway signs, old advertisements, and a NY pizzeria (which is Moe’s on a regular day).

To put it plainly, this movie is going to be absurd.  They filmed fight scenes all week. Let me paint it for you: tons of people, exploding ground, cross bows, a werewolf, badminton racquet, large axes, giant poles, motorcycles, a minotaur, and a giant angel. Confused yet? It was to create story lines up all week in the office – and obviously get little work done.

The “power” of celebrate is also fascinating. Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, and James Marsden are standing 20 feet across the street. They smile and wave, say hello. My heart is racing and my hands shake in excitement as I try to snap as many pictures as I can. Why?? They are normal people, they are just known by millions of people all over the world. Why this reaction?? I see future psychology research in the works……

Anyway, personal celeb sitings included: Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, James Marsden, Kanye West, and Vince Vaughn (not filming…just visiting we think). Other sitings (not by me personally): Jim Carey, Harrison Ford, John C. Riley, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Christina Applegate, Kristen Wiig, Sacha Baron Cohen. So the question becomes – who is NOT in this movie?!? If filming is taking place near you, I highly recommend taking some time to go watch – the cast apparently took pictures and signed autographs every day when they wrapped up (unfortunately I could not stand around that long).

Sadly, this week at work will be slightly less than riveting after last week. 🙂 I am SO excited to see this movie and feel sorry for anyone else in the theater when we all see it together (there’s our building!…..I knew that was going to happen!…….Oh that’s what that was!……..) hehe.
