So according to my book list (#27), it appears that I read really slow. I feel the need to explain/confess that I got my head to read Les Miserables….a few months later it’s still in progress. I’ve taken breaks to read other books. It’s not that Les Mis is horrible – it’s reallllly long. There are great parts but there are also some loooong boring parts. Part of me is stubborn and wants keep going and part of me wants to give up.
Anyway – on this break I downloaded Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. It was both books in one along with a short biography of Carroll. It was interesting to read about how Alice came to be and some of his thought process in writing.
The Disney animated Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite. And it’s actually a combination of things from both books! There are plenty of characters and scenes from both books that are not in the movie. I also didn’t know that there had been so many movies made from these books (also listed and described at the end of the book). These two books were a fun and easy read – definitely recommend them if you’ve never read them!
