10 books down – 10 more to go! This one may be my least favorite so far, though I’m not saying it was bad: A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. I think this would be a great book to read straight through – if you have a long flight or are riding in the car or even as an audio book. Unless I’m traveling, I read about 10-15 minutes at a time on the train twice a day and before I go to bed. And since I had to break it up a lot it was really hard to follow the timeline and relationships between all the people. I’m pretty sure everyone is connected in some way to Bennie, a music exec, and/or Sasha, who works for Bennie. I didn’t study them but there are character maps online, so apparently I’m not the only one who was lost. There are a lot of different people in and out of the story and at times it almost felt like short stories, with the occasional recurring character. Again, I think it would be a lot better reading straight through, so I still gave it 3 stars!
