In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware was the first true suspense/thriller book I’ve read in a while. It was a little slow getting started, but once the action got started it was a great read. Crime writer Nora can’t remember what transpired the night of the incident, but slowly pieces everything together, as she finds herself in the middle of one of her novels. Only this is real life. And not surprisingly, there’s an important backstory that you get bits and pieces of along the way. All leading up to a suspenseful ending.
Add this one your list as Reese Witherspoon is developing the screen adaptation of the book, though no idea how long until it will actually be on screen.
