Real Life Dug

Everyone needs to smile and laugh every day, especially in today’s world, and even more so during this election season. It’s just depressing.

This is the perfect video to do just that. I think I’ve watched it at least once every day this week. I’m not kidding. Disney/Pixar for the win. Happy Friday!

Backstreet’s Back

If you haven’t heard the news, the Backstreet Boys will take up residency in Vegas next year! Even though I am and always have been an N’Sync girl through and through, BSB was a close second and I’m pretty excited. The chances of N’Sync doing a reunion are slim (come onnnnn JT!!!) so I’ll take what I can get.

For all you Beliebers and Swifties and Directioners out there, we didn’t have fan names.  We also didn’t have Twitter battles over who was better. We didn’t have Twitter! And although there were definitely hard core fans, it was generally a boy-band-love world. You definitely ranked them and couldn’t love them all equally, but *hate* was a word rarely heard out of a teenage girl’s mouth in the same sentence with a boy band.

I know other boy bands have already made the national tour rounds, but if you really want to boil it down, BSB and N’Sync were the kings of the boy bands. And this is a Vegas residency. Trump card. Anyway, watching BSB perform with James Corden was entertaining in a funny way but also spectacular. Apart from the choreographed dance bits (which are pretty good considering the youngest Backstreet “boy” is 36 years old), it’s a little like watching your dad try to dance. A couple of them are taking this very seriously, while it looks like some (cough*Howie*cough) are just there because they have nothing else to do.

Who else is in for Vegas?! Happy Friday!

First Lady Carpool Karaoke

I LOVE James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke. I’ve watched them all (what did we do before YouTube?!). If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you must have been living under a rock. This was a little more serious than a lot of them, but I love that Michelle Obama did this. Seeing someone in her position relaxing and having fun is fun and brilliant. How can you not love her?! She’s done a great job of this over the past 8 years. But by far, the best part about this carpool karaoke is that they are just driving in circles around the White House campus with a secret service car following close behind the entire time.

I highly recommend watching this then going down the rabbit hole of Carpool Karaoke. Happy Friday!!

Fiesta!

Last post about Nicaragua. On the last day in Los Robles, we brought a piñata for the kids. It was WAY better than piñatas here because you have to dance to get to hit it! I will totally enforce that rule at my next piñata gathering (because, you know…that happens so frequently…). The adults just play along and let the kids mostly hit it – until told to just finish it. 🙂 Enjoy!

New Christmas Songs

Buckhead Church does some pretty great openers – some funny, all entertaining – and last weekend was no exception. They wrote some new Christmas songs to appeal to some new groups. It never hurts to mix things up a bit, right? There are 3 (not full songs) – and the last one is by far the best. Hope everyone is having a joyful, non-stressful holiday season!
