Brew at the Zoo

Beer festivals are fun. But add a fun location and/or entertainment to the festival and it’s even better. Cue Brew at the Zoo. Beer, wine, cute and awesome animals, and live music. This past long weekend was perfect weather and my friend came to visit from Nashville. We had a fun group and I even ran into more friends once we got there! The lines were a little long for drinks, but it was still perhaps my favorite event in Atlanta so far. I would highly recommend it! One new beer/wine festivals down – 1 to go!

#101. Festival

Nashville is a place where any day of the week, you can have numerous festivals and benefits to choose to attend. You could spend more than half your time going to fun, new events! A week ago we went to the the Nashville Scene’s Iron Fork….a festival of food. Which crosses another item of the ole’ 101 list!

  • Element A: Over 30 restaurants were in attendance with food samples.
  • Element B: 3 drink tickets, sponsored by Four Roses Bourbon, which mixes deliciously with lemonade.
  • Element C: Iron Chef style competition between the top select local chefs

The event took place at the Country Music Hall of Fame, which is a perfect venue for any event! Proceeds helped support Martha O’Bryan Center and I would definitely attend again next year. The food from every restaurant was great. The only downside to the whole event was trying to juggle a plate of delicious food and a delicious drink and enjoy both at once.

RC Cola & Moonpies, Oh My

Last Saturday, Meghan and I hopped in the car and headed southeast on I-24 to Bell Buckle, TN. Bell Buckle is everything you are imagining right now. Not a single stop light. Railroad Square sits in the middle, with the Bell Buckle Cafe serving up true southern cuisine. Saturday, however, was the town’s annual event – the RC Cola & Moonpie Festival. Basically, everything about this festival revolves around food, and Meghan and I were more than happy to partake. It was tons of fun to browse the crafts tents, watch the parade, watch the people, and eat the fried deliciousness….including a fried moonpie. YUM.
