The Heir Affair

I may have liked this second installment of this series even more than the first. The Heir Affair by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan didn’t seem to be trying as hard to feel based on actual royal family details as The Royal We and I thought was more entertaining.

After a disastrous wedding, Prince Nicholas and his new bride, Bex, disappear to try and save face, which only makes his family more angry. They must return to reality, however, and learn to navigate the public, their family, and their marriage together. And it is not walk in the park. I especially enjoy the Queen’s character in this story as the authors make her a little more human and “normal”. This is a very quick, entertaining read but you should definitely the first book so you have some background for this one. Enjoy!

The Royal We

It feels a bit like Royal fever again watching The Crown, so this was a perfect book to read at the same time! The Royal We by Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan felt a little bit like a Prince William and Prince Harry story, except this time William is the one making relationship headlines. And based on my limited research, literature read, and shows watched, there are definitely snippets of truth to some of things in the book. Like the royal family vacationing in Klosters every year, which is included in the book.

The book was entertaining, albeit slow at times. I felt like they could have left out or shortened some parts. Or maybe I am just a more distracted reader this time of year. Either way, I’d still recommend it, especially if you enjoy all things royal or royal-based and with a bit of American flair. I’m planning on checking out the next book in the series as well! Enjoy!
