30 Before 30

First of all, I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything since August. Guess my life has been fairly uneventful – and perhaps a little busy! Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

If you know me at all, you know I like lists. I really enjoyed doing my 101 list and I thought another, albeit shorter, list would be fun. Technically my goal was to start this back in October when I turned 28 to give myself a full 2 years to complete the list, but that just didn’t happen. So what better time to start than the new year?! So I present to you, my 30 Before 30 list. I’ll track my progress here! 🙂

101 Failure or Success

67 of 101 complete. Not a great stat. It’s a little sad that I wasn’t able to complete more items off my 101 list. Some I have legit excuses for – such as moving away from Nashville where there were 4 items I was not able to complete.  And yes, it was difficult to do some thing after moving and being busy with school and finding myself in a new city.  I can come up with a million excuses, however most were left undone due to laziness. Some required enlisting friends to help and I didn’t push enough. Many just required planning ahead and organizing. A handful I know for a fact I will do in the next 2-3 months, just not in time to make the official list.

I am, though, completely happy with those I was able to complete. It challenged me to do new things and gave me goals to work towards, which I love. You can see my full list – completed and uncompleted items – here: 101 in 1001.

101 in 1001

I have finally finished creating my 101 list, to be completed in 1001 days. Thanks to Meghan for the initial inspiration and to Whitney for the inspiration to finally finish my list and start it. Nothing on the list is huge or spectacular….just some things that I want to complete in a “short” (relatively) amount of time. I feel like I am opening a new chapter in my life with a new job and “growing up,” so what better way to start a new chapter with some new goals?! I will finish my list on April 29, 2013.

I will use my completions as my blog posts and will keep the list updated here!! Just click on the 101 page at the top to keep updated!!

Life of the Jobless

I am a person who likes to stay busy. Wait, take that back. I like probably 60-80% of my days to be busy and have things to do, then the rest to relax and do something I enjoy. Being jobless puts a real damper in that lovely percentage of time spent. I do keep myself somewhat occupied with things………not that all these things are enjoyable but that they keep me from losing my mind……

Training for the Music City Half Marathon. I’ve actually really come to enjoy my morning runs, even in “feels like 9 degrees” weather as we saw last week. It just makes me feel so good starting out the day!

Scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking my senior year of high school and love doing it, but it is time-consuming. I got really behind in college. Last week I finished my junior year of college. This project is now on hold, however, because I ordered more prints and am waiting for them to arrive.

Cleaning. For some reason, this is something I am very prone to do when I am bored. That is how lazy I feel when I sit and do nothing. I would rather clean. However, I have to leave something for the roomies to do (wink, wink) and have to make myself spread it out. Last week before I left town, spent hours cleaning the kitchen, which will happen again cuz it’s my chore this month! Today, cleaned the bathroom. Tomorrow, clean my room and organize my closet.

Arrested Development Seasons 1-3. All seasons. I started and finished. I got them for Christmas and hadn’t seen the series in a couple years. LOVE IT! Movie comes out next year!

30 Rock. I think it’s in it’s 4th season, but I am just now jumping on the bandwagon. I can watch the first 3 seasons from Netflix online for free. Yes, these are tv shows that envolve sitting, but I am usually doing something else while I watch (cooking, organizing, filing, etc.)

And let’s not forget the job hunting. I spent an hour or two every day searching for jobs, applying for jobs, researching companies and jobs. Now it would seem that all these things would fill up the day. But oh, no! I can get through a day’s list in a morning most of the time.

For now, I just hope I can enjoy some of this free time because hopefully it will be gone VERY soon.
