Another book down! I’m really lucky to have so much time to read – call me a nerd, but I love reading! I’m sure it has nothing to do with the fact that my mother started her career as a reading specialist. 🙂
I recently finished The Middelsteins by Jami Attenberg. It’s a story about a Jewish family in Chicago and focuses on the mother’s health – she is very obese – and how she came to be so obese. There’s nothing super exciting about the plot or story line, but it’s a fairly typical American family and the issues they deal with. It’s a good look at intergenerational relationships and family, especially surrounding the obesity of the mother/grandmother, which affects everyone in the family but doesn’t impact them all in the same way.
